As a young boy, Alex Whitten began helping his Dad on general contracting jobs around the Upstate. Neither one could have imagined that that early enjoyment of working together would lead to Alex joining Daniel Whitten Inspections many years later to become a home inspector!
In the interim, Alex worked for more than three years with a local landscape and construction company where he helped build decks, arbors, and retaining walls, installed patios, walkways, and driveways, installed and maintained sprinkler systems, and renovated exterior landscapes, as well as attended Anderson College where he achieved a B.S. in Kinesiology and Exercise Science.
Alex joined Daniel Whitten Inspections in 2022 as a contracting/building associate and began an inspection apprenticeship process with founder of the firm, Daniel Whitten, that included co-inspections of more than one hundred homes, then a progression to dual parallel inspections of houses and a comparison and evaluation on inspection reports. In the meantime he passed the South Carolina certification exam and achieved his home inspection license.
Alex’s primary service activity has been as a volunteer for more than a decade with the South Carolina Search and Rescue Dog Association, a non-profit that aids emergency management and law enforcement agencies in the search for missing persons using highly-trained search dogs. In his free time Alex enjoys volleyball, frisbee, mountain biking, and reading Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and Dale Carnegie.
Alex and his wife Anna-Marie have one child, a boy named Raynor.
